Yes! We love hosting cruise ship passengers and our tour times are compatable with the tender times into port. We will pick you and and drop you off to the wharf if you let us know you arriving via ship.

Riding an electric bike is just like riding a normal bike except there is a pedal assist function to help you on the steep parts! A sensor is mounted on the pedal crank and senses when you are pedaling (or not) plus how fast you are pedaling and simply supplies electrical motor power to suit from a battery. It is a little like cruise control on a car.

You need to have a moderate level of fitness as you must pedal for the duration of the tour, of course you can use our powerful turbo modes when ever we are approaching a hill! You must also be able to read the screen for the modes, so if you wear glasses ensure you have them with you!

The 300-watt motor we use is the maximum allowed under NZ law and is considered a bicycle so our e-bikes are not a powered vehicle and you do not need a driver’s licence.

Anyone who knows how to ride a mountain bike. Your guide will explain how to use the riding modes. You must already be comfortable with using gears and brakes on a conventional mountain bike in order to attend the tours.

Children from the age of 12 (minimum height 1.55m) are allowed to ride their own bike if accompanied by an adult.

If you enjoyed your tour, tipping is welcomed but not compulsory.

We operate our tours in all weather except very heavy, consistent rain! If the weather is looking too bad for your tour and we cancel it, you will have the opportunity to re-book another day or time or receive a full refund.

Our brand new Ebikes offer the luxury of pedal assistance however you will still be required to put in some effort as we will be gaining some glorious elevation, don’t worry…the view at the top will be well worth it, so bring your camera ! We will be taking intermittent rests which gives everyone a chance to regroup and soak in those stunning views. Our powerful Ebikes have multiple riding modes which lets everyone stay together despite different levels of ability so don’t worry about falling behind. Don’t forget our motto.. FURTHER, FASTER AND HIGHER!
Our Guides all have first aid/wilderness first responder training to ensure your safety. Our guides are always in radio contact with our base, they carry first aid supplies, repair kits, emergency communication devices so you don’t have to worry about a thing. They also love taking photos for everyone!
