Who is this tour suitable for?
The ultimate sea to summit is a half day epic Ebike adventure for those who want to ride some of the best coastal scenery in NZ while getting some great exercise with the luxury of being accompanied by a local guide. Mt Bossu – otherwise known as THE BOSS commands respect so you need a pretty good level of fitness, mountain biking experience and an appetite for exploring as we climb and traverse to the top of the volcano! This tour includes mixed terrain on sealed and gravel roads, you must be prepared to ride for around 4 hours on terrain which includes some steep assents and descents throughout. The duration of the tour will depend on the speed you ride at, how many photos stops you would like and the size of the group.
If you are arriving via cruise ship into Lyttleton we can organise transport and a day trip to Akaroa -please contact us for prices, times and availability. We can also offer a different tour time to suit if the advertised time does not fit in with your day.
If you are arriving into Akaroa via cruise ship we offer free drop off and pick up service from the wharf. Just let us know when you are planning your trip!

Private bike guide & option of shuttle pick up and drop off to start of the route.This amazing ride starts with mixed terrain on sealed roads and then a long steep winding climb that brings us to the summit of Mt Bossu, the highest volcanic point in the Banks Peninsula.The higher we climb, the better the views become! Continuing along the rim of the volcano we enjoy soaking up the views, taking some photos and finishing with a descent on gravel roads all the way back to sea level.
